Chris & Jeanine’s Wedding
By · CommentsWe first met Chris & Jeanine 2 years ago when we were shooting Chris’s best man, Dave’s, wedding in a beautiful little town in Sicily. We fell in love with the group of people that we spent several days with over in Italy- so much fun! We sooooo excited when Jeanine reached out to us to tell us that not only was she getting married but she was 5 months pregnant and wanted us to cover it! Chris & Jeanine had a beautiful ceremony at All Saints Church in Hoboken, NJ, and then had the Reception at The W Hotel just a few blocks away. We got some beautiful shots at The Chart House, overlooking the water and the NYC skyline. To check out Dave & Christina’s all film, Sicily Destination wedding click the link below

Destination Wedding: Anguilla
By · CommentsHere are some of our favorite shots from Janel & Peter’s wedding in Anguilla!

I wanted to feature one of our all time favorite weddings. Lisa & Keith’s wedding at the New York City Athletic Club. Right in the heart of mid town in NYC. This was a perfect location for beautiful images in Central Park right across the street. The large windows in the NYAC made for beautiful images.

Kelsey & Sudhir’s Wedding
By · CommentsWe are now in the process of going through and re branding our website, blog, portfolio, logo —the works! We are really excited to reveal the new look of Barnaby Draper Studios in 2010. While I was going through some 30,000 wedding images from the last year, I have come to select a few from some of my favorite weddings of 2009. And in the coming weeks, I plan to post some of these pics. Today, I am posting some images from Kelsey & Sudhirs wedding. Indian weddings are some of my absolute favorite to capture because there are so many beautiful colors and details! Kelsey and Sudhir decided to have on full day of wedding celebrations. Starting with a traditional Catholic ceremony, and ending with a traditional Indian Ceremony. Their wedding planner was Sherri from Williams Sossen Events. And their event took place at the Indian Trail Club in New Jersey Check out some of my absolute favorite pics from their day. Rachael & Jerrod’s Wedding on a boat!
By · CommentsFati & Mehrad’s Persian Wedding Ceremony was held in a beautiful penthouse apartment overlooking Central Park. I love Persian wedding ceremonies! Family and friends escort the groom into the ceremony and he sits first before a lavish spread of delicacies and offerings and facing a mirror. Then the bride is escorted in and the groom sees her reflection in the mirror. It’s a very festive entrance and can be a challenge to shoot since the bride and groom are surrounded by family but we squeezed in and it were able to get great shots!

The reception was on the rooftop of The Gramercy Park Hotel. Very elegant. The ceiling in one of the rooms is covered with hanging light bulbs–amazing. Turns out I went to grade school in Paris at the Ecole Active Bilingue (Parc Monceau) with 8 of the guests!!

Epicurean Umbrella featuring Liquid Alchemy
By · CommentsYet another excellent evening with Jennyfer & Al and friends from Epicurean Umbrella! Great people, great eats, great vibe and this time Douglas from Liquid Alchemy put together very clever drinks to compliment the courses. Douglas mixed these drinks right in front of the guests who got a chance to experience his dexterous alchemy up close and hear his ideas and inspirations behind the drinks. Douglas’ descriptions:
“Prosecco sparkling wine
fresh white peach puree
peach puree with some peach skin for color using calcium chloride and sodium alginate we made droplets of peach with a thin layer similar to gel cap medicine but so thin it dissolves instantly in your mouth, they also float around the glass due to the carbonation

Hot and cold peach foam cocktail
1 1/2 oz Gordons gin
1/2 oz Leopold Bros. Georgia peach infused bourbon(3 pounds of organice Georgia peaches go into every bottle from this artisan distiller from Colorado)
lemon juice
simple syrup
shaken and served over ice
the foam on the cocktail was peach, lemon, simple syrup, smoke essence. filled into an ISI foaming canister. It was a tart meringue style foam with a smoky nose.
The concept was inspired by grilled bacon wrapped peaches. With the foam really giving off a smoky tartness and the cold drink underneath being a sweet peach which balanced out the tart of the foam.

The last cocktail was a gin cocktail spur of the moment.
1 1/2 oz Gordons gin
lemon juice
simple syrup
versawhip powder(egg white substitute made from isolating a soy protein, no worries about raw egg in the cocktail and it provides twice as much foam as egg white does)
Classic drink, quite a few people commented that they thought they hated gin before the event, but really enjoyed the cocktails.”
Chef Al put together the following sumptuous meal and skillfully cuts the veal chop:
1st Course:
Butter Lettuce & Peach Salad
Red & Green Baby Butter Lettuce, Peaches, Feta & Almond Brittle
2nd Course:
Roasted Apple & Maple Brined Veal Chop
with Lemon Zest, Parsley, Thyme, Chives & Vermont Maple Syrup
OR
Florida Thai Snapper en Papillote
with Chili Pepper Beurre Blanc
AND…
mashed potato bar
BITE CLUB toppings: creamed leeks, mushroom gravy & house made salsa verde3rd Course:
Dessert Shot Duo (non alcoholic)
Chocolate Pudding & Vanilla Creme
Vanilla Panacotta & Passion Fruit Gelee

Cindy and Adam’s Vineyard Caterers Wedding Album
By · CommentsHere is a look at an album design from one of our favorite weddings of the year Cindy & Adam. They got married at Vineyard Caterers in Aqueboque, NY. Their planner, Christine at Exquisite Affairs Productions Inc, did a wonderful job. Hair and Makeup was done by Kasey at Khouloud’s Beauty, and Cosmo NY. Their flowers were by Flower Michele & Lighting by Get in Tune. Linens were by Linen Creations and shuttles were by North Fork Trolley. Music for the Ceremony & Cocktail hour was by Vintage String Quartet & for the Reception they brought in Arcadia (LI Paramount). Their wedding was absolutely beautiful-so much attention to detail. I loved the images with the bridesmaids & the parasols and their clay cake topper by DK Designs was awesome! Cindy adn her husband Adam, who both work at Billboard Magazine, were a BLAST to work with!
